This model is a shortened variant of the standard Zhukov handguard, reducing length by 1.5 inches to better suit shorter-barreled rifles and pistols while maintaining compatibility with full-length rifles. It also accommodates military issue cleaning rods, preserving functionality without sacrificing the benefits of the Zhukov design.

Equipped with M-LOK slots, the Zhukov-U allows for versatile accessory attachment, and it remains fully compatible with the UltiMAK gas tube rail system. Installation requires removal of the handguard retainer, offering a streamlined upgrade for AK platforms.
